onto the questions:
Anonymous asked you: Hey ! Hello, I would like to know if you know BL manga with uke looking like Ninomiya Kazunari ? My best exemple is Yugi Kakeru of Kasa no Shita Futari. Thankkyou ! :D
I don’t know who that is tbh. Sorry!
nizumi123 asked you: Please follow me!! ^o^
unfortunately I don’t really follow people just because they ask me to—I really only follow good friends and art/porn/political blogs. Sorry! But I’ll post it here in case anyone else wants to follow you I guess.
Hi! I’ve just set up my yaoi blog and was hoping to make some friends (you don’t have to add me!). I love yaoi and I love talking about it, so I hope you’d enjoy talking with me :} For starters, what are your favorite yaois? Manga-kas? I would list mine but I’m afraid it would exceed character limit. I hope to read from you soon! — yaoi-reblog
hello! 8) Nice to meet you. I like talking about BL and such too, though unfortunately I don’t get much of a chance to do it on this blog since it’s not a personal blog but if you want to really talk you can contact me at chaizer since I don’t feel so spammy when I actually talk back and forth with people on that account. ANYWAY as for my favorites I’ll just give a top five since I would be going forever if I went into all my favorites (though I do have a manga favorite rec post here and a mangaka favorites kinda-rec post here):
top five books/series:
Me wo Tojite 3byou by Aniya Yuiji
Endless World by Jaryuu Dokuro
Shiawase ni Naru no sa! by Kumonosuke
Akiyama-kun by Nobara Aiko
Itoshi no Nekokke by Kumota Haruko
top five artists:
Aniya Yuiji
Jaryuu Dokuro
Kumota Haruko
Ootsuki Miu
Kojima Lalako
I look forward to talking to you in the future! 8)
PREMIUM MOE PERSON! Once you receive this award, you are supposed to paste it into the ask of eight people who are MOE. If you break the chain nothing will happen, but it is sweet to know that someone thinks you’re MOE inside and out~ — loveterro
aww ty! I find myself to be pretty un-moe but I’m honored.
Anonymous asked you: Tag, you’re it! Here are the rules: Each tagged person must post ten things about themselves. You have to choose and tag ten people. Go to their blogs and tell them you tagged them Because, HOW ELSE WOULD I WIN YOUR HEART? \(◕ ◡ ◕\)
umm I try not to get personal on this blog but I can definitely give you ten random facts about my and bl so here goes!
01) the whole reason I started buying so much BL is all the fault of Ogura Muku and Gojoe Tiger.
02) my top five favorite artists constantly changes depending on what I’ve read on any given month but it always always always includes Aniya Yuiji and Ootsuki Miu.
03) I almost always have a stack of like ten BL sitting next to my desk because either I’m too lazy to put them away after getting them out or thye just came in the mail and I don’t feel like rearranging my shelves.
04) the mangaka who has made me cry more than any other is probably Jaryuu Dokuro. Either her or Yamashita Tomoko.
05) sometimes I skip buying lunch at work so I can buy more books at the end of the month. If you’re wondering how it feels to me this pathetic, my answer is: “broke.”
06) I am going to Japan this summer and the only thing I’m more excited about than the bookstores is the convenience store food.
07) I keep all of the stupid little advertisements that come in my books.
08) sometimes I go back and reread all of the magazines I bought over a year ago just so I can see which artists I originally skipped over and how much my tastes in art and story styles have changed. Also, just because I really like revisiting my favorites.
09) I like character-driven slice-of-life stories a lot more than I like action-driven plots. I find I become a lot more attached to the characters and emotionally involved in the stories. And that’s usually what I’m looking for when I read BL.
10) yes, I do read manga that isn’t BL. You have no idea how often I get this question and it’s puzzling to me. Aside from BL I also really like shoujo and josei, though I do read a couple shounen/seinen stories here or there.
azym asked you: Yesterday I was finally able to buy my first yaoi manga at AB. And I’m usually very picky about them, but I was somehow able to find Men of Tattoos on the shelf, and remembered really liking the picture on your blog from it, so I took it. And god I love the art and characters! I love Katagi, he’s so adorable. ;u;
ahhhh I’m so glad you liked it!!! Whenever I read reviews for Aniya’s Men of Tattoos people seem to either love it or hate it, and even though I know everyone has different tastes it breaks my heart when people don’t enjoy Aniya’s work lmao. ;;
Anonymous asked you: Have you ever read Bukiyou na Silent? I’m not the biggest fan of the mangaka’s other work but this series is super cute. I think you might like it (though if you don’t that’s totally cool of course). Lovely blog as always.
I have! 8) It, along with Little Butterfly, is actually my favorite work by Takanaga Hinako. I’m not really into any of her more recent stories but Bukiyou and Little Butterfly will always have a special place in my rotten fujoshi heart.
Anonymous asked you: what is a funny yaoi manga ?
umm this is hard to answer since everyone has a different idea of what’s funny or not. But some artists who like to include gags in their stories whom I particularly like (which is rare since I tend to not like gag BL very much) or Natsume Isaku and Taumi Mayu.
Anonymous asked you: I LOVE this blog! Thank you so much for introducing me to so many mangakas and their wonderful work T_T I’ve been on a search-and-read frenzy ever since I found this blog.
aww yay, I’m glad you’ve found new artists and stories to fall in love with!!
Anonymous asked you: As for the readers asking for links, I think that they know well about the Existence of Google but you post a great amount of unscanlated stuff and people just can’t seem to wrap their minds around the fact that raws just don’t organically grow out of the Internet and aren’t always available for free in English; usually you buy them from a store in Japanese! And “yes, I speak Japanese” and “no, I’m not scanlating them for you” ~_~ I don’t have any obligation to do so even if we both like yaoi.
I think that’s what bothers me most about it tbh. I mean, I’ve explained (imo) a pretty good amount of times “hey don’t ask me where to download stuff because the stuff I post here isn’t anywhere online—I scan my ownbooks for all of you to try and offer a taste of artists you might have never seen before” but people just don’t seem to get it. They get mad at me and send me rude messages accusing me of hoarding scans and laughing to myself over all the sad little peons who don’t know these secret scan sites and passwords that I’m supposedly privy to, but seriously. I don’t download scans. I can’t read Chinese and a majority of scans posted these days, ever since the huge DMP and Libre crack-downs, are Chinese. So I gave up. I don’t even go to Aarin. I don’t go to LJ. I don’t download scans at all anymore unless they are specifically linked to me by friends or people on hazukashiikedo. I’m even too lazy to join all those scanlation groups that make you jump through hoops. I have no special scanlator-and-scan-site privileges. Everything that I download and read, you can download and read too with only the simplest of Google searches.
I love scanlations, don’t get me wrong, but my least favorite part of them is that they’ve created this culture of not even considering actually buying the book. It doesn’t even cross people’s minds these days, it seems like, that you can buy the book. If you really really want to read it and it’s not available online, you do have the option of buying. A lot of the sites are even available in English. You can borrow a friend’s credit account and pay them back. There are even huge bulk-order help services online if you look for them. Christ, if you really want a book and are having trouble getting it you can contact me if you want and I’ll put it in my order for you and you can send me cas. through the mail. I really am not holding any special secrets or privileges—I am not rich nor am I fluent in Japanese nor do I have a huge set of fandom friends who lavish me with awesome free shit. I am literally doing somethinganyone can do if they put their mind to it. That’s all.
idk it just frustrates me that I have specifically requested people not ask me this question so many times but I still get it constantly. I really don’t care if people don’t buy—it’s not my problem what you do and don’t want to do with your own money. But that also means it’s a little douche-y to whine about not being allowed to look at/read something when you outright refuse to spend money on it imho.
Anonymous asked you: can you post scans from you’re my loveprize in viewfinder?
unfortunately I don’t have scans for that one on my computer and since it was licensed all the scans I know of were taken down. So I’m not so sure I can post anything from it.
Anonymous asked you: good god I love your tumblr of guilty pleasures! Now if only I could look at these from work…. ;)
if only we could all enjoy some gay porn at work.
Anonymous asked you: Please don’t erase iamfujoshi. Just ignore those questions(I know it’s hard) or disable anon ask. Maybe if they had to ask under a nick then it would shame them.
don’t worry—I probably won’t ever delete this stupid blog. As much as some of the more entitled people irritate me, I love hearing other people’s anecdotes about their BL experiences and likes too much to actually go through with it. So please just make sure to tell me about all the great BL you’ve been reading lately so it can offset the annoying/rude messages and the people who delete the artist/book credits, etc. etc. etc.
